'Pinned Down' (2016)
'This is the second painting in my #cantfly series of butterflies, which explores the vulnerabilities I felt after leaving hospital after a lengthy admission. Pinned down shows the girl stuck under a stunning pair of butterfly wings, unable to move and unaware the ability to make a change and to move is within her power. I feel this is an extremely powerful painting, exploring the powerplay we often struggle with in our minds about what we "should" do and what we "can" do when making decisions about our lives.'
